REDUCING EMR EXPOSURE WHEN FLYING — For You and the Kids

As an individual who is sensitive to the radiation from all the wireless technology, I’m uniquely qualified to call out Danger! for our children. On a rough day, I can guess the model of cell phone passing by.

Since we’re all electric beings and affected by this non-ionizing radiation, I do have an advantage.

With the roll-out of a never-tested-for safety 5G, we are all being subjected to rising radiation levels. In the home (which we can take control of), in public spaces, and increasingly in airplanes.

Air travel used to be a holiday from the dailies. It was a break from all the routine to fly away. That’s changed with airlines increasingly cancelling the airline magazines and beaming WiFi through the aircraft: “Bring your own entertainment.” Now after you’ve boarded the plane you’re expected to check-in (i.e., text or call) Mom or the Boss.

Every closed, metal, moving container—auto, train, bus, elevator, subway—exponentially increases the radiation levels. Now it’s true of much—but not all–air travel.

So now there’s ever more radiation we’re being exposed to with 300+ signals bouncing around in the metal aircraft.  And it was already subjected to cosmic radiation at 38,000 feet so passengers and the crew are suffering.

Children with their thinner skulls and developing brain and nervous system are the most vulnerable. Here’s how to reduce radiation exposure when flying—

  1. Book in Economy class, the farthest from the front of the aircraft where the transponder is. This area will have the lowest RF levels.
  2. And choose a seat near the back in Coach, behind the wings (high electrical centers). Yet, families tend to choose the front rows due to more floor space. Plus bassinets are attached to that wall for families with babies.
  3. Wear shielding materials—especially for the children. Put a breathable, shielding fabric over (and under) the bassinet. Use a brain-shielding fabric under comfortable hats for children. And capes falling below their knee with shielding material under a comfortable, colorful fabric are an easy way to protect the children.
  4. Before Boarding—Say NO to TSA ‘s advanced imaging technology which is non-ionizing radio frequencies (same as the cell phone). Choose to do the pat-down lane with metal detectors. I tell them that I’m wearing RF shielding material so they’re not going to “see” anything anyway.
  5. Be the last one to board. If you’re already sensitive to the RF or you need to reduce your exposure, being the last one to board will save 45 minutes of sitting in the metal container with cell phone signals bouncing around. They’ll slam the doors shut behind you, and if it’s a WiFi- free flight, they’ll tell the passengers to put away their electronic devices. In any case, you’ve reduced exposure by 30-45 minutes.

Waiting on the Tarmac—A catastrophe for the Electrically Sensitive—especially Children. Airlines need to be made aware of the EHS passenger and prohibit use of cell phones while sitting on the tarmac. The FAA claims that the radiation levels in the planes are within FCC rules of exposure limits.

There is the crux of the regulatory problem. The safety limits were set in 1996 when there were few cell towers and very few users—a plastic mannequin head filled with saline water (the human brain according to engineers) was measured for heating while a 1990s cell phone was held 1-inch away for 6 minutes. That’s how the FCC safety standard for electro-magnetic radiation of the human body was devised!

A sixth-grade science fair student would recognize the fallacy of this FCC standard. Three times since 2012, the FCC has been directed to go back and look at the science—but they haven’t revised the safety standard yet!!
